Author/Artist Visits

Author/Artist visits are a great way to get students excited about literacy, writing and art. I love coming to schools and sharing Snickeyfritz with the students & faculty. Email publisher@woodennickelpress.com to schedule your author visit.

The ‘I-spy’ Snickeyfritz School Assembly Presentation

Following the introduction of myself and why I created Snickeyfritz, I project the book for the students to see as I read from it. I also bring along artwork and artifacts from different countries that are featured throughout the scenes of the book, giving the students a chance to have an 'I-spy' treasure hunt, looking for the objects within the pages as I read. Once they locate an object we sing songs to celebrate each found object. I address the nostalgic language in the book and I bring with one or more of the life-size characters from the story - giving students a chance to see their size and construction. The presentation is followed by a Q&A.

Author Reading Parties

In addition to visiting schools, I also offer Author Reading Parties. I will visit, read and provide an activity during these parties. I am available for a number of different events and I am open to your needs and suggestions. I have presented Author Reading Parties for childcare facilities, Girl Scout troops, children’s birthday parties, neighborhood block parties, library events, and community education programs. I offer a number of activities during these visits, and events can be arranged according to the needs and specifics of the event.
